Most beef labeled “100% grass fed” in the United States is actually imported from foreign countries.
Current USDA rules say that if the imported beef is “processed” in a USDA-inspected plant, it can legally be marked “Product of USA” even though the meat is actually imported from foreign countries.

In short, you may be eating beef raised in foreign countries and never know it.
Antibiotic-resistant bacteria is present in much of the beef sold in stores. Antibiotic-resistant infections cause millions of illnesses and tens of thousands of deaths each year in the United States.
Antibiotic-resistant bacteria (such as Salmonella), is present in a very substantial percentage of grocery store-bought beef. It gets there because most cows in the United States are forced by the thousands into huge commercial feedlots where they often get sick. Feedlot operators put antibiotics in the animals’ food and water as a preventative measure against liver abscesses and other serious illnesses caused by non-grass food and unsanitary conditions.
Over 85% of the beef processed in the United States is controlled by just four companies (and two of those companies are foreign-owned). Rancho Guejito is a big ranch, but nowhere near as big as those big four companies.
Rancho Guejito has been cattle ranching since 1845. . . long before California statehood and long before those big four companies ever existed.
